COLE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Despite Cole's chicken pox, we had his birthday party on Saturday with our family. He insisted that everyone had to dress in costumes again. Cole stopped for a brief moment to hold the cake that I made for him. Here are a few of the people at the party dressed up. My Grandma was chewed up bubble gum on the bottom of a shoe, I was Mrs. Winthrop, Warren was a werewolf and my dad was a mad scientist. Who says Halloween is just for kids?

CHICKEN POX

Just a word to the wise for all of you parents of young kids. When my boys turned one, the doctor recommended that they get the varicella booster shot, for the chicken pox. So I agreed. They did say that they could still get the pox, it would just be a very mild case. Well...Cole has come down with the chicken pox. On Wednesday night, he showed me this spot on his knee and I thought it was a spider bite. So of course, since he's such a Spiderman fanatic, we were teasing him that he would turn into Spidey. Then Thursday night when I was making supper, he started scratching his hip and pulled his pants down a bit to show me something. He had more spots!! Upon inspection, we discovered about 4 dozen spots all over his body. He hasn't gotten any more and he's nearly all scabbed over already. But it was certainly the last thing I expected!! There are also 4 other kids in his grade that have the chicken pox and all of them have had the shot!! I think if I had to do it over, I wouldn't get that shot. I would just chance them getting the chicken pox.

GRAND RIOS

Last Saturday we took the kids to the Grand Rios waterpark in Brooklyn Park. Warren's brother, Matt, his wife, Sue and their two boys, Dalton and Logan also came along. The kids had so much fun!! They ran all night Saturday and right away Sunday morning when they woke up. There was so much for them to do. The one thing that had Cole and his cousin Logan captivated was the dump bucket. Every few minutes there would be a bell that would go off and the boys would run over to where the bucket was. Then the bucket would dump a ton of water on them!! They loved it. You can see the boys waiting for the bucket in the picture on the top left. I didn't get many pictures because my camera died but here are a few of them.

FALL COOKIES

I baked some pumpkin shaped cookies the other night for the kids to decorate. I think it was a contest to see who could get their frosting piled the highest! Just looking at all of that frosting makes my stomach and my teeth hurt!! That must be a sign that I'm getting old!!! =(

MANY FACES OF COLE...

Cole loves dressing up and acting goofy. On the bottom he's a burglar and on the top he's a sumo wrestler. He's quite a character!

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Ally was chosen as Student of the Month in the Middle School for the month of September. She has just sailed right into the middle school atmosphere. Her dad and I are simply beaming with pride!!!

HOMECOMING PARADE

Since Ally is on Student Council, she got to be on a float for the Homecoming Parade. Their theme was "Middle School Student Council Goes Hollywood". She had so much fun that week!!

WE'RE LOST!!!

Hello to all!! I know you're probably all wondering where the Blumhoefer's have been...well...my camera was lost. I'm pretty sure it was "misplaced" intentionally by a member of this household who is known for some wild tan lines....hmmmm...wonder who it could be?????

Well...no need to worry. I have located the camera and will be putting up some posts this weekend. In the meantime...all of you think back 11 years ago...where were you? I can tell you where we were...Warren and I were at the church in Fairfax having our wedding rehearsal!! That's right...tomorrow, October 14th, will be our 11th wedding anniversary. If I had a scanner I would try to post some pictures but I don't. So you'll have to rely on your memories if you're able to remember that night!!!
