IT'S BREAK TIME!!
I just thought I'd drop a line and let everyone know that we are going to drop all of our kids off at my sister's for the weekend!!! YEAH!!! We are sooooo excited! Can you tell that we need a little break? Anyhow, we're not sure what our plans for the weekend are yet. We're going to be spontaneous and see where life takes us...it's been about 10 years since we've done that!!

ME AND THE BOYS
PLEASE LET SCHOOL START!!
Wednesday, August 23, 2006
We took the kids to the Hutch fair on Friday night. Lucas decided he was big enough to go on the Ocotopus ride. He and Warren hopped on and Lucas was all smiles until the ride started. His face instantly turned white and his eyes looked like they were going to pop out of his head!! His stomach didn't feel so well the rest of the night. He laid down on the couch just to "rest" a bit. I guess the ride took more out of him than he thought!!
"SPIDEY" BOY

Cole is an absolute superhero fanatic so the last few years for Halloween, he has dressed as various superheroes. Of course, we have to keep these wonderful costumes so he can dress up and become a superhero for the day whenever he feels moved to do so. The other day it was "Spidey"day. He wore this costume all day long. He even wanted to wear it to bed. He struck the spidey pose so we could capture his true inner self!!!

FROG OR TOAD?
After the rain on Sunday, Lucas had to get outside. He's the "great outdoorsman". He found 2 frogs down in the window well. I kept calling them "toads" and he kept correcting me saying that these were "frogs". We have always had lots of toads in our yard so of course this is what I still call them. However, according to my son, there is a difference and he was trying to explain it to me. You'd think after having 2 boys, I would know the difference. Lucas finally gave up and just said, "mom, you just don't get it". Maybe someday I'll figure out which is which...but I won't hold my breath!! =)
GARAGE SALE

Last Sunday the weather was so crummy outside that the kids decided to play "garage sale" in the house. Warren and I couldn't believe how busy they stayed playing this!! They gathered everything from donuts to t-shirts to sell. I guess it was good for them to brush up on their math skills before school starts.

THE BIG KAHUNA
On the way home from camping we stopped in Spicer to do a little mini golfing at The Big Kahuna. It was a good thing we were on our way home. We barely made it through the course with our CRABBY kids!! They look so happy here...too bad this picture isn't a true reflection of their attitudes that afternoon!!!
FISH STORIES

We went camping this weekend in Spicer at County Park 5 on Green Lake. The kids did a ton of fishing off the docks. As you can see the fish were GIANTS!!! It didn't really matter to the kids. They had more fun just catching the little ones because the water was so clear that they could see the fish come and bite on the hooks! The fish on top is one that Cole caught. The others are Lucas' and Ally's and our nephew, Logan's.

IT'S BAND TIME!!
Now that Ally will be entering the middle school, she has the opportunity to play in the band. Her instrument of choice was the saxophone. She started lessons on Monday and she has been blowing until her little heart is content! I just hope that her enthusiasm for this continues!!! Warren was trying to get her to play like Lisa Simpson on her second day of lessons...I think Dad is a bit excited about this adventure also!!!
ZIZZLINGERS

The other day at Target Cole talked me into getting him these things called Zizzlingers. I had no idea what they were. I thought it was something for the bathtub. We had to put this white paper packet into a bowl of water. Then it fizzed blue bubbles everywhere and out popped 3 superhero figures!! He thought it was great!! Now he's convinced he needs more. I have to admit it, was pretty cool!!!
